Amtrak and The South Shore Line
Please consider taking the train to nearby South Bend Indiana, less than an hour's drive from the home. Car rentals are available through Enterprise who will pick you up at the station during normal business hours. Amtrak runs daily each direction from New York/ Boston to Chicago, stopping at a station in West South Bend. The South Shore Limited runs multiple times per day to and from South Bend and Chicago Millennium Station under Grants Park near the Chicago Art Museum. The nearest station to the park is at South Bend Airport, although if only a pickup is needed, Dunes Station is the same distance from Culver but saves the rider an hour of train time. Be aware that you change time zones to Chicago. Taking the train is a relaxing way to get to the home and part of the adventure, especially from the North East. Amtrak also services Indianapolis.
