The Vonnegut House adds a Car Charging Plug
“There is something happening here..”
Sometimes we get complaints.. it’s too hot.. while the new part of the house has a geothermal system that can cool down hades, the old original side does not, and we can’t turn down the outside.. it’s a fairly regular thing now.
We aren’t obtuse to global warming.. in fact, we try to run the house with a deep awareness of it. It’s why we have a lot of tres, not much stone, reflective paint and cedar roofing. We hope someplace in our managerial hearts that if we make some good karmic choices, the jet stream will stay south and take care of turning down the outside for us.
However there is always more we can do, and we hope this is a reasonable next step of business, hospitality and humanity:

We have a NEMA 14-50 plug, 50 amps of 240 so that the average car will gain @ 20 miles of range per hour. We don’t have a charger, we have a plug on the wall, but a lot of cars now have onboard chargers, all Tesla’s allegedly do.

If this goes well, we have fuse box and wiring for one more, just need to add a box.. so if someone wants to throw a Tesla party, we’ll add another box.
